Physical Description of Character: Gato is very tall and rather thin, with muscular arms bearing lightning bolt tattoos. He is almost constantly wearing a simple olive-colored dress robe and a matching, tattered cloak. He has long, stringy green hair that curls slightly at the end, and covers half of his face (where one of his eyes was gouged out). Hair also obscures his missing left ear, also cut off in battle. His eyes are an eerie yellow, and his skin is a dull, pale purple.

Point in Cannon: After the main character finally kills him and he explodes into ashes.

Personality: Gato is, in a word, cracked. He appears mostly sane at the beginning of the game, but as he keeps on getting beaten and becomes more and more obsessed with the main character, his mind starts to slip.
Gato is obsessed with mutilation, this probably stems from the fact that his eye was torn out and his ear was cut off-- but who knows, maybe he's just into guro. He is a sadist by nature, and gives off a few masochistic tendencies as well.
Gato believes in Hammurabi's Code (only when he was the one wronged, of course), so if you accidentally slam his hand into a door you might want to watch your hands.
Surprisingly, when it comes to jobs Gato is very reliable. When he tells you that he'll do something, he'll do it.
Most importantly, he is obsessed with the main character. Since she is not on the island at this time, he will most likely be very unstable. He'll be talking to himself, be plotting what he'll do when he finds her, and constantly searching for her.

History of the Character: Gato was an assassin hired by the main villain to kill everyone related to the princess candidate of the Human Kingdom (a world alternate to ours). He easily killed the mother and father of the main character, but she was rescued in time by her butler.
It takes Gato three years to find her again, and now she's being taken care of in modern Japan by a retired hero from the Human Kingdom, and she has no memories of her past. After dark he attacks her when she's lost her way. The hero shows up, and Gato tells the princess candidate that he was the one who killed her biological parents. The hero attacks and manages to gouge out one of his eyes and cut off one of his ears before he escapes into the darkness.
Gato attacks the princess candidate every year after that when she wanders in the different kingdoms. When she turns fifteen and is wandering the Spirit Kingdom, he appears and tells her that he's in love with her. She rejects him, not able to forgive him for murdering her parents. They continue their yearly fights, this time Gato asking her why she can't love him.
Finally, at the gates of Heaven, before her final battle against the angel who started the whole fiasco, Gato appears again as a half-dead shell of the man he once was. He's completely lost his mind, and once more asks why she can't love him. The main character replies that what he did was unforgivable. She kills him easily, and right before he shatters into a thousand pieces he confesses his love to her one last time.

Magical Powers/Skills: Gato has a very slim grasp of fire magic. He is able to create firecracker-like shots and fireworks to hurtle at the enemy, but they hardly do any damage. He is somewhat formidable with a dagger.
He is also a skilled guitarist, and uses this to lull his enemies and lower their morale.
Weapons: His guitar, a short sword, and dagger that he always carries.

Points of Interest: Anytime he sees asparagus he turns into his half-dead final battle form.
Why the author of this fanfic willed this, he has no idea.
